Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has hinted that he already has one on the January transfer window, according to The Mirror.
He watched on as his side were embarrassingly knocked out of the Carabao Cup at the hands of League Two outfit Colchester United.
After a goalless 90 minutes, the game entered a penalty shootout. Missed attempts from Lucas Moura and Christian Eriksen ensured victory for the unfancied fourth-tier outfit.
Pochettino hinted at reinforcements and advised that their current plight might not be rectified until then.

He told The Mirror: “We lost the game by penalties and today was about winning. When you play at this stage, it’s not about the performance but the result.
“We are working so hard to put everyone on the same page. Only we need time. January is going to be a good opportunity to fix this situation and the next one. We need to do something different and we will.”
Tottenham were beaten by Leicester City on Saturday and have already lost to Newcastle this season. They currently occupy seventh in the division and perhaps more crucially trail Liverpool by 10 points.
TBR Verdict – Next transfer window massive for Pochettino
Spurs added three players to their ranks in the summer yet already it feels as though the squad needs a lift.
Tanguy Ndombele has looked capable of being a quality player but Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon have barely played due to injury problems.
That won’t appease the Spurs faithful and already this season looks like something of a lost cause as far as claiming silverware goes.

The gap between them and Liverpool already looks insurmountable and success in the Champions League seems highly unlikely.
That leaves just the FA Cup and failure in that competition could mean another trophyless campaign.
Reaching last season’s Champions League final was supposed to be the start of something special. Instead, it looks like being the beginning of the end for the Tottenham manager.
