Tony Cascarino has told Talk Sport that he doesn’t think Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino will see the season out.

The ex-Chelsea striker was speaking to Laura Woods on Wednesday morning’s edition of Sports Breakfast.

The club has added Tanguy Ndombele to Pochettino’s squad this summer, but more players were expected to arrive.

Cascarino thinks Pochettino’s days in the Tottenham hot seat could be numbered.

He told Talk Sport: “We all question whether Frank Lampard will still be at Chelsea by the end of the season and if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will still be Manchester United manager next summer.

“But the one I feel is the most likely to go from the top six first is Pochettino.

“I look at Poch and I just feel from what’s happening and what he’s communicating, I’m not sure he’s going to be there at the end of the season. I just don’t see it.”

The Argentine has been at Spurs since 2014 and he led the club to the Champions League Final last season.

TBR Verdict

It seems unthinkable that Pochettino will walk away from Tottenham.

Although he launched into a rant at the club’s hierarchy yesterday, he comes across as a man who loves the job he has.

Pochettino is ambitious, however and simply wants the club to share such qualities.

In signing Ndombele he has filled one void, but he will have definitely hoped for more new arrivals by now.

Spurs must be careful. The last thing they need is Pochettino leaving and he is a real asset for Tottenham.

You can kind of see where Cascarino is coming from, but it seems unlikely that Pochettino is remotely close to walking away from a club he holds close to his heart.
