Report: Tottenham now want 26-year-old Scudetto winner; he absolutely loves Conte

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Inter Milan midfielder, Stefano Sensi, as Antonio Conte steps up his efforts to bring in a new midfield player this month.

According to a report from 90Min, Sensi is on Conte’s radar. The Italian pair worked together at Inter Milan, with Sensi part of Conte’s title-winning side last season. However, Sensi has only been a sporadic participant in proceedings this season in Milan. He’s made just nine Sere A appearances, and hasn’t started since the opening day.

90Min suggest that Spurs could even offer Tanguy Ndombele in a swap deal. The idea hasn’t been flatly rejected by Inter, with Sensi among the players who could go this month. Sensi, 25, has eight caps for Italy and has scored three goals.

Predominantly a deep-lying midfielder, Sensi is also more than capable in a more advanced role. That could point to Conte’s keen interest in him, especially with the likes of Ndombele and Dele Alli offering little.

Why Do Footballers Demand Higher Wages?

Ndombele, interestingly, is being touted around the Italian market. He has already been offered to Juventus. However, the Turin side apparently rejected a deal involving Weston McKennie.

Stefano Sensi was signed at Inter by Antonio Conte and to say he likes the new Spurs boss would be an understatement. During an interview when he signed, Sensi spoke of his admiration for Conte.

“Certainly Conte is an important coach, with a winning mentality and is what he needs in today’s football, he is an impact coach who makes you grow and I can’t wait to start working with him,” Sensi told Calciomercato.

On that basis alone, it looks like Spurs would be getting someone who wants to be here. Which is more than can be said for the baffling Ndombele at the moment.
