Barcelona considered moving for Tottenham Hotspur star Lucas Moura as an alternative to Neymar during the summer transfer window, according to Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo.
The Brazilian superstar ended up staying at PSG; whilst Barcelona baulked at the valuation of Moura which was in excess of £50 million.
The 27-year-old arrived at Tottenham in January 2018 from PSG and was a key part of the Tottenham team that reached the Champions League final last season.
His superb hat-trick in the semi-final against Ajax will see his name written into Tottenham folklore.

Moura was cruelly dropped for the final, however, with Harry Kane winning his place back after injury. On that basis, it remains to be seen whether Moura might have been keen to discuss a deal with Barcelona.
The forward was on the bench for the draw with Arsenal at the weekend and in four games so far this season he has one goal and one assist to his name.
TBR Verdict – Tottenham right to value Moura at over £50 million
In today’s market £50 million isn’t really a lot of money – particularly to a club like Barcelona.
On that basis, Tottenham were right to stand firm and demand such an amount for one of their prized players.

Moura was in fine form last season, proving one of the unsung heroes on Tottenham’s run to the Champions League final.
In 63 games for Spurs, he has netted 7 goals and registered seven assists; although he has more often than not been used as a back-up to Harry Kane.
It should speak volumes to Tottenham that Barcelona considered him in the same breath as Neymar and it is perhaps time for Pochettino to hand him a prolonged run in the side.
