Tottenham loanee, Oliver Skipp, has been rewarded once again for his fine displays with Norwich by being called up the England under-21 squad by Aidy Boothroyd.

Skipp has been putting in some sensational performances for the Canaries since arriving on loan. Touted as one of the better young players at Spurs, it is believed Jose Mourinho is a massive fan of the midfielder.

Football.London wrote this week how Mourinho sees him as a potential long-term successor to Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, while they also quoted the Spurs boss as seeing him as a ‘future captain’ of the club.

Skipp, then, will once again get an opportunity to strut his stuff for the Young Lions, who take on Albania and Andorra, respectively.

The 20-year-old has already won five caps for Boothroyd’s men and is widely expected to add to that in the coming fixtures.

Mourinh and Spurs fans, then, will be keeping a close eye on proceedings once again when it comes to their young midfielder.

A fine player in the making, this loan spell is ideal – TBR View

Sometimes a loan spell just goes perfectly and this appears to be the case when it comes to Oliver Skipp.

Norwich play slick football and have a forward-thinking coach in Daniel Farke. It’s the ideal environment for Skipp to prosper and he is doing just that by the looks of it.

He should be key for England in what is a talented squad, and will hope to eventually follow Harry Winks into the senior ranks.
