England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford is being courted by Tottenham. After another win for the Three Lions, the stopper was praised by David Beckham on Instagram.

Pickford is firmly established as England’s number-one goalkeeper. The Everton man has never let Gareth Southgate down and he recognises that by continuing to play him.

Last night, he made a stunning save at 0-0 from Boulaye Dia. The magic moment proved the catalyst for England to go on and win 3-0 to set up a quarter-final berth with France.

Beckham took to his story on Instagram to rave about Pickford. He summed up his feeling on the stopper in just three words, stating that England are ‘in safe hands’.

Pickford has been with Everton for many years. He joined the club from Sunderland and has become a firm fan favourite at Goodison Park.

The goalkeeper has made 213 appearances for the Toffees, keeping 57 clean sheets during his time playing in goal for the club.

In truth, the stopper hadn’t had much to do at the World Cup before last night. His moment of brilliance against Senegal, however, definitely highlighted his quality.

Pickford courted by Tottenham and Beckham has praised him

The goalkeeper is someone who clearly values playing for his country. He wears his heart on his sleeve and cares deeply about the fortunes of the national team.

That trait sees him hold something in common with Beckham. He was a very good captain for the Three Lions and is one of the most likeable players to ever play for the team.

Pickford could earn a big move in the coming transfer windows. He has previously been linked with a move to Tottenham as they look to replace Hugo Lloris.

Antonio Conte could certainly do a lot worse. Pickford is a quality shot-stopper and he also distributes the ball extremely well.

Ex-Everton star Leon Osman has previously called Pickford ‘outstanding’ and he’s definitely capable of playing for a bigger club.

That could well see him transfer to Tottenham and Beckham clearly thinks Pickford is an exceptional player.
