Emil Forsberg was linked with a move to Tottenham during the summer and last night he helped RB Leipzig put PSG to the sword in the Champions League.

According to Expressen, the Swedish performer was firmly on the radar of Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho as he attempted to rebuild his squad.

It would take in the region of £40 million to prise the forward away from the Bundesliga and his stock could be rising.

Last night he fired home the winning goal after Christopher Nkunku had cancelled out Angel Di Maria’s early opener.

Forberg admittedly scored from the spot but it was his third goal of the season in all competitions, to go alongside two assists.

Tottenham received a glimpse at Forsberg’s quality last season. The Sweden international scored during a 3-0 win in the Champions League against Mourinho’s men.

Playing in a number of positions during 2019/20 the man with 52 caps for his country scored 10 goals and registered four assists.

Tottenham enjoyed a pretty solid transfer window, with Gareth Bale, Sergio Reguilon, Carlos Vinicius and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg the pick of the bunch.

Forsberg has made a decent start to the current campaign though, highlighting why he attracted admiring glances.

Mourinho won’t see his squad as being completed just yet and Forsberg’s versatility would make him an attractive addition.

His valuation perhaps doesn’t match a player of his age but he does possess undoubted quality.

The model professional is a big part of Julian Nagelsmann’s team and looks settled in Germany.

Spurs might look to add more attacking options to their squad in January and it’ll be interesting to see whether Forsberg is still on the radar.
