Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly emerged as frontrunners to sign Franck Kessie in January.
Links between Spurs and the Milan midfielder go back a number of years.
However, Kessie looks likelier than ever to move clubs soon.

The 25-year-old’s current contract expires in the summer and he’s yet to pen a new deal.
According to Calciomercato, Tottenham are now leading the race for Kessie.
Indeed, the outlet claims Spurs have sent out “multiple manifestations of interest”.
Mauricio Pochettino’s PSG are reportedly also hoping to land the Ivory Coast international.
That said, Tottenham and Pochettino could still have to compete against Kessie’s current club.
The report claims both Kessie and Milan wish to continue their relationship – but each on their own financial terms.

Milan Live claimed earlier this month that Tottenham and PSG are willing to meet his wage demands.
The 24-year-old is reportedly after around £163,000-a-week.
This would make Kessie the third highest-paid player at Spurs, behind Tanguy Ndombele and Harry Kane.
Given Tottenham could do with bolstering their midfield ranks, it’s no surprise to hear such a report.
And as Kessie may not cost too much due to his expiring contract, he’d still be a bargain, all things considered.
After all, he is an “extraordinary” midfielder.
