Tottenham are keeping a close eye on Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic, ahead of making a potential bid for the Serbian in August.
According to Fiorentia.IT, who relay reports from the Italian media, Tottenham have been watching Milenkovic in recent weeks and there is a 50% chance that the defender does indeed leave Florence. It’s claimed that Milenkovic has what’s labelled as a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ to leave Fiorentina, if the right offer comes along.
Dubbed as an ‘extraordinary‘ talent, Milenkovic has starred in Serie A over a number of seasons and was linked with a move to West Ham United earlier in the year. Of course, he remains in Italy as of now and faces a big decision over the next move in his career.

For Tottenham, who have already more than £100m this summer, a defender remains a potential priority before the window closes. The success of Cristian Romero’s arrival from Serie A has given Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte hope that another Italian league addition could work out.
However, a number of Spurs players need to leave as well, and it’s believed Paratici is focussing on getting those exits sorted before he signs anyone else.
TBR’s View: Milenkovic A Solid Tottenham Signing
This would be handy for Tottenham. If they could somehow do a deal for Milenkovic it would just given them that added strength in depth at the back.
The back three of Dier, Romero and whoever Conte chooses – whether it be Davies, Lenglet, or another – should be fine this season. However, there is no doubting Milenkovic would improve things.
If Spurs can get this over the line, then with a long season ahead, you’d have to call it smart business.
