Champions League finalists Tottenham are considering making an offer for Benfica winger Jota, according to Portuguese publication, Record.
Spurs have been interested in the starlet previously but they are now contemplating making a concrete bid for the 20-year-0ld.
Jota is protected by a £26 million release clause and it is unsure whether Spurs will be able to get the youngster any cheaper.
The left-winger has played six times for Benfica’s senior side but has excelled during outings with the youth teams. He was captain of the club’s Under-19s during their UEFA Youth League campaign this season.

Spurs will be looking for quality additions during the summer. Boss Mauricio Pochettino hasn’t signed a single player since January 2018 when he captured Lucas Moura from PSG.
In order to get closer to the Premier League’s top two arrivals will be necessary and Jota is a probable target.
TBR Verdict
Jota isn’t a household name as far as the Premier League is concerned, but he is certainly rated highly by Portuguese football fans.
The 20-year-old is a tricky winger who boasts a turn of pace and the ability to beat a full-back with ease.

Spurs have a tradition, particularly under Pochettino, of giving youngsters a platform to play first-team football. That aspect will delight Jota and perhaps hand the Londoners the edge over any potential rivals for his signature.
It will be interesting to see how long it takes him to break into the first-team at Tottenham. Jota certainly has a big future though and he could be a decent addition to Pochettino’s ranks.
