Tottenham interest should persuade Charlie Kelman ahead of West Ham

Southend United teenager Charlie Kelman has caught the eye with his incredible form in the youth ranks and it now seems that Tottenham may challenge West Ham in the race for the 18-year-old, according to Football Insider.

Capped at under 18 level by the USA, Kelman broke onto the scene with a debut goal from the halfway line against Plymouth Argyle, earning himself the League One Goal of the Month award.

This weekend, he was given his first start for the Shrimpers against Blackpool, with a number of clubs believed to be keeping an eye on how he performs.

Given their record of bringing through young talents, Tottenham may be the more attractive proposition for Kelman, who could look to Mauricio Pochettino’s impressive track record.

West Ham also perform well in that regard and would surely present an attractive offer to the centre forward, but a move to north London may be more eye-catching as the club pushes on in Europe alongside their move to a new stadium.

If Spurs do enter into the bidding for the League One player, it could be bad news for West Ham who still have work to do if they are to pull off the signing of a promising talent.
