It appears Nathan Ake might be the man to replace Toby Alderweireld, should the Belgian’s release clause be executed this summer.
As reported by The Sun, the Dutch international is being considered in a £40 million swoop from Bournemouth.
Chelsea’s plans to bring Ake back to Stamford Bridge have been halted by their transfer ban and Tottenham could now have a perfect chance to sign the player.
Tottenham have been linked with Ake before and this will come as no surprise. He certainly fits the mold for Tottenham and Mauricio Pochettino.

Indeed, Tottenham fans know that Ake is not just a top defender, but also a threat in the opposing box.
A little over a month ago, Tottenham looked like they were going to bottle their top four position. One game where that never looked more evident was the loss to Bournemouth at Dean Court.
Tottenham had two players sent off in the clash and a last-minute goal left Arsenal on their tails.
Ake was the man who scored that goal. Luckily, Arsenal had a poor end to the season as well and Spurs finished in the top four.
But Ake, one month from denting those hopes, could now be on the way to becoming a Tottenham player.
