Tottenham Hotspur midfielder James Maddison has named the Manchester City player whose shirt he has framed up on his wall.

The Spurs star, speaking to the club website, revealed that he has hung up a number of shirts he has swapped with “big players” over the years.

Unsurprisingly, the Manchester City player in question is Erling Haaland. Maddison revealed that the Norwegian’s jersey is up on his wall.

As well as Haaland’s shirt, the Tottenham ace also has tops from Cristiano Ronaldo and Eden Hazard taking price of place on the walls of his home.

“A lot of shirts I’ve swapped with big names I’ve played against are framed and on the walls, players like Eden Hazard, Cristiano Ronaldo and Erling Haaland,” said Maddison.

“As well as my own shirts that have meant something to me from finals and key games. Most of my stuff is dotted around the house.”

It’s nice to hear how game recognises game here. Maddison is arguably one of the best playmakers in the Premier League, and he has the shirt of one of the best strikers in England up on his wall.

Both players have made a huge impact in their respective teams since joining. In Maddison’s case, Spurs finally have themselves a proper heir to Christian Eriksen’s throne.

As for Haaland, his heroics for Man City really go without saying at this point. His tally at the Etihad Stadium reads 81 games, 74 goals and 15 assists.

Indeed, he has scored in the region of one goal per game at each of his clubs – plus his country – since leaving Molde (for whom he scored a very respectable 20 goals in 50 games).

Having players of the quality of Haaland and Maddison grace the Premier League really is a blessing.
