Tottenham Hotspur’s talented young striker Troy Parrott is quickly becoming one of the most exciting prospects to come through the club’s system in recent years.

The Irishman has been in fine form for the club’s youth teams and his national team in recent months. Indeed, Parrott scored on his international debut for the Republic of Ireland under-21s this week.

The 17-year-old’s goal came in the same week in which he was included in the Tottenham Champions League squad and named as second-choice striker to Harry Kane by Mauricio Pochettino.

However, speaking to the Irish Mirror, Parrott has insisted he must keep himself level-headed, as it is a huge part of being a success at Tottenham.

“Obviously it’s good for the confidence that the gaffer puts me in there (the Champions League squad) but I’m just going to keep pushing on and try to improve.

“That’s a massive thing at our club, keeping level headed and not getting too big – it’s a great club.

“There are players who give you a lot of advice and the manager is always giving advice. It’s a great club for me to keep learning.”

It is certainly great to hear how happy Parrott is at Tottenham, as he could play a bigger role than expected at the club this season.

With Tottenham losing Fernando Llorente they are short in attack and Parrott’s form is demanding attention.

It is equally impressive to hear he is keeping himself in check amid the hype surrounding his ability.

Hopefully, Parrott can remain level-headed, and grow into the star that Tottenham believe he can.
