Tottenham Hotspur will rekindle their interest in the Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes in January, according to reports.
Tottenham were heavily linked with the player, who scored 32 goals and assisted 18 last season, throughout the summer.
In fact, speaking to GQ Portugal, as relayed by Sky Sports, he stated he was ready to make the move to Tottenham this summer but a deal could not be made between the two clubs.
As reported by The Sun, Sporting wanted about £60 million for their star midfielder and it seems Daniel Levy was not willing to meet such a price.

But A Bola is reporting that Tottenham will return for Fernandes in January. The report claims that Tottenham’s ‘interest is still alive’ in the player. They also mention Christian Eriksen’s potential January departure to Real Madrid in January as a reason for Tottenham to launch a fresh approach in the winter.
TBR’s View
There is no doubt that Tottenham need to make some significant changes to their team after a poor start to the new season.
Shifting Eriksen before he leaves on a free will be a priority in January and a significant replacement would undoubtedly be wanted.
Tottenham show a reluctance to do business in January whilst a recent report from Noticias suggested Fernandes remains valued at €70 million (£61m) – both of which would represent stumbling blocks to any deal.
But Tottenham fans will undoubtedly be hoping they can finally get their hands on the mercurial playmaker in January.
