This week saw Swedish attacker Joel Asoro discuss his summer transfer to Swansea City. The frontman decided to move on from Sunderland this summer and decided on a switch to South Wales.
However, he could have made a move to Tottenham Hotspur. He confirmed that he did not want to join Tottenham, as he felt the club could not offer him the first-team opportunities he would receive at Swansea.
Tottenham obviously felt there was a chance the 19-year-old could go on and become a star in North London.
“We sat talking to Tottenham and they said they could not promise anything about playing time.”
So now they have missed out on the teenager, will Tottenham live to regret it?

It is a similar situation to the one Tottenham found themselves in with Moussa Dembele. Spurs wanted the French youngster when his contract at Fulham was coming to an end in 2016.
In the end, it never came off and Dembele ended up at Celtic. Two years later and the Frenchman has just completed a £19.7 million move to Lyon.
Tottenham will hope Asoro does not turn out to be as impressive.
