In what has been an eventful week already for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama, it appears he could be about to call time on his international career.
The Kenyan midfielder was all set to leave Tottenham this summer. His performances had begun to dwindle and consistent injury problems also left him something of a liability for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.
With that in mind, a move to Belgian side Club Brugge appeared to be on the cards. However, as reported by Goal, the £13 million transfer collapsed as the two clubs and player failed to reach an agreement.
Now, according to reports in his homeland, Wanyama could be about to retire from international football.

Nairobi News is reporting that Wanyama, who is captain of the Kenyan national team, has pulled out of their upcoming clash with Uganda ‘on medical grounds’.
The same report states there is speculation that Wanyama is considering ending his career with the Harambee Stars.
The 28-year-old made his debut for the Kenyan national team at just 15-years-old back in 2007. He has since gone on to play 56 times for his country and was named captain back in 2013.
He helped Kenya qualify for the African Cup of Nations this summer but they were eliminated in the first round.
It has certainly been a busy week or so for Wanyama, whose career is clearly reaching a crossroads at both club and international level. Hopefully, he can make the right decision for his career on both fronts.
