Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a shock move for West Ham United striker Andy Carroll this week. Spurs are currently without the injured Harry Kane and absent Heung-min Son and their lack of firepower nearly cost them two points at Craven Cottage yesterday.
The Sun suggests that Carroll could be a £2 million target with an 18-month deal on the table.
But if Tottenham are going to try and lure away a West Ham forward then surely they should test the stability of Marko Arnautovic’s relationship with the club.

Over the weekend an expected move to China for the Austrian fell through. The mystery £36 million bidders pulled out of the deal, as reported by The Telegraph. It seems they had grown tired of waiting for a decision on his exit.
It now leaves West Ham with the unenviable task of reintegrating their star man into the fold at the London Stadium.
Tottenham Hotspur should certainly consider a sneaky bid of their own. Arnautovic has proven himself a worthy operator in the Premier League at both Stoke and West Ham. His versatility would also better suit Tottenham’s needs.
Spurs, according to The Telegraph, have £50 million to spend this month. Seeing if £36 million of it could bring them in a genuine Harry Kane alternative would not be a bad idea.
