Tottenham Hotspur will more than likely need to invest in a new central defender this summer.
Toby Alderweireld’s £25 million release clause will surely see the Belgian leave the club, with there seemingly being no extension on the cards.
His depature will leave a big hole at the back for Spurs, with Alderweireld having established himself as one of Europe’s best centre-backs over the last couple of years.
A number of names have been reported as possible replacements such as Joachim Andersen, Luiz Felipe, and Michael Keane.
But someone who they should perhaps be looking at is Niklas Sule of Bayen Munich, who is being eyed by Manchester United according to Sport1.
Sule could be the victim of an overhaul at the Allianz Arena this summer says the report.
Bayern failed miserably in the Champions League and are facing a tough battle with Borussia Dortmund to retain their domestic crown.
Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard will both join in the summer, meaning game time may become limited for Sule.
He could fetch a decent fee for the Bavarian giants, and Spurs should consider making an offer.
6ft 5in Sule is monstrous in the air, and is also a superb passer of the ball – as evidenced by his 92.9% pass accuracy in the Bundesliga (via WhoScored) – making him an ideal potential replacement for Alderweireld.
