Tottenham Hotspur round-up: Stadium progress, £4.5m Taoui battle and Gomez unhappy

Stadium progress

Tottenham Hotspur are making strides forward in their bid to move to their new stadium for the start of 2019. On December 16th the club has invited 6,000 season ticket holders to visit the south stand of the new ground in a ‘familiarisation event’, as reported by the Independent.

The news has made Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino ‘very, very happy’ and Tottenham will hope that they finally get to play at their new ground as soon as possible.

Taoui battle

Tottenham Hotspur are set to do battle with Manchester City for the signing of Toulouse youngster Adil Taoui in January.

According to Foot Mercato, both Spurs and City are keen on the player who would cost a fee in the region of £4.5 million.

The talented French youth international has not yet featured for the Toulouse first-team.

Gomez future

Reported Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Maxi Gomez is considering his future at Celta Vigo. According to Marca, he is said to be confused about his role in the side under new boss Miguel Cardoso.

El Pais recently reported that Tottenham want to lure Gomez to the Premier League. The Uruguayan, nicknamed ‘The Bull’, has a €50million (£44.5million) release clause
