Tottenham Hotspur round-up: Pochettino not bored by Real rumours, Rose expects quiet January and Gomes battle
Mauricio Pochettino insists he is not bored of reports linking him with the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United.
The Argentine has again been linked with the two footballing heavyweights this week after Tottenham’s Nou Camp performance.
Speaking in his press conference Pochettino stated he prefers this situation, to one where he was being criticised.
He also confirmed Kieran Trippier, Serge Aurier, Juan Foyth and Davinson Sanchez could be back from injury against Burnley.
Rose on signings
Danny Rose is not expecting Tottenham to sign any new players in January. He told The Independent that Pochettino’s ability to keep pace with the rest of the Premier League without spending big deserves major credit.
The left-back believes it is no coincidence the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid are keen considering his success.
Tottenham Hotspur are set to rival Everton for Andre Gomes. The Portuguese star has been sensational for the club since joining on loan from Barcelona. Everton want to sign him permanently but will now face competition from their Premier League rivals.
As reported by The Telegraph, Tottenham sent head scout Steve Hitchen to the Merseyside derby where he was watching Gomes.
Spurs see Gomes as a potential long-term replacement for Mousa Dembele, who will leave the club in January or next summer.
