Son ‘stepped up’
Mauricio Pochettino has been talking to the press ahead of Tottenham’s game with Burnley at the weekend, as transcribed by Football.London.
The highlight of the presser was the Argentine making it clear he would make a final decision on Harry Kane’s recovery from an ankle injury. He called the England international an ‘animal’ suggesting he might return to action too early.
He also spoke of Heung-min Son’s recent form. He suggested the South Korean was now playing with ‘energy’ and that he has ‘stepped up’ in recent weeks.

Eriksen future
Christian Eriksen’s agent has released a statement regarding his contract situation. The Dane has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent months.
Martin Schoots has told ESPN that his client wants to ‘focus on football’ before the end of the season so will not discuss a new deal until the summer.
Tripps on Dyche
Kieran Trippier has credited Burnley boss Sean Dyche with kicking his career into gear. The Tottenham right-back played under the Clarets boss during his time at Turf Moor.
Trippier told the Burnley Express that he was drinking too much before Dyche became his manager and that he would like to play for him again.
