Toby to Barca

Barcelona are said to be interested in a move for Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld this January. The Catalan club are looking to strengthen their defence and are believed to be keen on the Belgian.

According to The Mirror, Barcelona are considering the move as a stop-gap before going all out for Ajax defender Matthijs De Ligt in the summer.

The centre-back has been heavily linked with a move away from Spurs recently as his contract talks with the club have proven fruitless.

Kane response

Harry Kane had the perfect response to questions regarding a potential move to Real Madrid yesterday. The England striker bagged two assists as the Three Lions secured a historic win over Spain in Seville.

When asked by reporters from MARCA if he would like to join Los Merengues as he left the stadium he simply stated, “Sorry, not today,”, as if he had been approached by a charity canvasser on the high street.

Levy speaks

Daniel Levy says the new stadium build has not impacted the club’s transfer policy. Tottenham failed to sign a single new player in the summer. It comes as they continue building their new stadium, which has been hit by delays this season.

But Levy said Tottenham had a certain amount of cash ‘earmarked for transfers’ and the £850 million build has not had an impact on the club’s spending power.
