‘Greatest ever built’

One of the lead engineers behind Tottenham Hotspur’s delayed new stadium has given a glowing review of the new arena.

Nick Cooper told the BBC that the 62,000-seater stadium will be the ‘greatest’ stadium ever built.

He also called on patience over the stadium. He suggested Tottenham’s idea of being moved in for the start of the campaign was always ambitious.

Tottenham still hope to have moved into their new stadium by the end of the year.

Ndombele was wanted

Reports in France have confirmed that Tottenham did, in fact, make a bid for Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele this summer.

RMC Sport are suggesting the offer was made as Tottenham looked to replace the seemingly outgoing Mousa Dembele.

However, the report also suggests any future fee for the player will be vast.

A bid from Manchester City in the £45 million region was also rejected for the player, with a much larger fee necessary to snap him up

Mido on Kane

Former Tottenham striker Mido has insisted Tottenham must give jaded striker Harry Kane a rest. The England captain has struggled for form so far this season after a tough few months with an ankle injury and getting no rest during the summer.

Mido told Sky Sports News that he needs time out of the team to recharge and get back to his best.

The Egyptian also cited an example in which Sir Alex Ferguson did just that after a World Cup with Wayne Rooney.
