De Jong rejection
Tottenham have reportedly had a £45 million offer to sign Frenkie De Jong from Ajax in January rejected.
The Dutchman has become Tottenham’s main transfer target to replace Mousa Dembele in the heart of midfield.
However, Mundo Deportivo report that Spurs’ attempt to get a deal together for the new year has fallen on deaf ears.
Ajax are not interested in selling a player mid-season. Barcelona are also keen.
Swansea City striker Joel Asoro has told the media in Sweden that he rejected a potential switch to Tottenham this summer.
The Swedish speedster left Sunderland this summer and moved to South Wales in a £2 million deal. He told SportBladet that he spoke to Spurs about a move but was informed he’d spend most his time with the under-23s at this point of his career.
Asoro, therefore, decided to move to the Liberty Stadium.
Nkoudou sticking it out
Georges-Kevin Nkoudou was told he could leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer. According to Foot Mercato, as relayed by Inside Futbol, the Frenchman was told he could depart with the likes of Mainz, Rennes and Saint-Etienne all interested.
However, the Frenchman decided he wanted to stay and try earn a regular place in the Tottenham starting XI.
