Toby Jose’s number one

According to the Independent, Jose Mourinho still regards Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld as his number one target for this summer.

The report suggests that Tottenham want Anthony Martial included in any deal whilst Spurs also have a lowest valuation of around £55 million for the Belgian’s services. Neither are reportedly considered fair to Manchester United.

The Portuguese boss has identified Harry Maguire and Milan Skriniar as potential alternatives but Alderweireld remains his priority.

Dakonam targeted

Foot Mercato are reporting that Tottenham are interested in Getafe defender Djene Dakonam. The 26-year-old late bloomer is reportedly worth £31 million and Spurs are keen on the versatile  Togo international.

Tottenham are not alone. Atletico Madrid, West Ham and Leicester are just some of the other teams chasing the player.

Spanish Inquisition

Tottenham took on Roma in the early hours of the morning. Spurs won 4-1, with a brace apiece from Lucas Moura and Fernando Llorente.

The Spaniard’s performance has led to some suggestions he might be kept on by the club, despite being heavily linked with an exit most of the summer.

Speaking after the game, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino refused to confirm his plans with the Spanish striker.
