Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in the signature of Fiorentina winger Riccardo Sottil.

As reported by The Express, Tottenham are ‘stepping up their interest’ in the 20-year-old attacker.

Sottil, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Pescara, is considered a hot prospect in Florence and recently made his debut for the Italian under-21 team, scoring in his second appearance at that level against Luxembourg.

The report also stated that Tottenham were going on a scouting mission for the player this weekend. Fiorentina were facing Atalanta and Spurs were reportedly sending a representative to keep an eye on the winger.

Unfortunately for Tottenham, Sottil has lost his place in the starting XI at Fiorentina. After a poor start to the season, he found himself dropped for last week’s draw with Juventus and was again made to sit on the bench for the duration of Fiorentina’s 2-2 draw with Atalanta.

Tottenham will, therefore, have to continue keeping their eyes on Sottil, who could indeed be one for the future if they manage to put a deal together some way down the line.

As for now, Tottenham need to get their current squad up and firing after an inconsistent start to the new season.
