Tottenham Hotspur face a battle to sign talented Northern Ireland youngster Charlie Allen with their London rivals Chelsea, according to the Belfast Telegraph.
Linfield talent Allen, who turns 16 next month, has already made his senior debut with the Belfast-based club and grabbed an assist on debut.
Considered Northern Ireland’s greatest talent in a generation, plenty of teams in England and Scotland have shown an interest in the wonderkid.

Back in July, the Belfast Telegraph was reporting nine teams as interested in Allen – including Celtic, Rangers, Manchester United and Leeds United.
However, the same publication appears to have narrowed the interested parties down to just Tottenham and Chelsea.
They report that the youngster ‘has been in negotiations’ with Tottenham but that Chelsea are now primed for a move.
Of course, Chelsea do remain under a transfer ban which could give Tottenham the edge in any approach for the player.
Hopefully, Allen makes the right choice when it comes to his development. There is undoubtedly a lot of talent at his disposal and his next move could be crucial to his potentially successful career.
