This week has seen a topsy-turvy transfer story emerge regarding Lazio midfielder Sergej-Milinkovic-Savic. Less than 24 hours after reports suggested Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Liverpool were keen on the player he had signed a new deal.
The Serbian has agreed to remain in the Italian capital until 2023. But, for Tottenham, the contract renewal could be seen as a double whammy.
Because not only has the Serbian agreed on a new deal, as has Ciro Immobile.

The Italian international was linked with Tottenham in the summer. The Mirror suggested that Spurs wanted the striker after his excellent 2017-18 campaign. He scored 41 goals in 47game for his club last season.
Tottenham were being linked with a big-money move for the player, who could challenge and partner Kane in attack.
In the end, Tottenham failed to sign a single player in the summer. Immobile, despite previous struggles at Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla, is an excellent striking option and one Tottenham were right to consider in their lengthy hunt for the perfect Kane alternative.
However, his is another name that can now be crossed off that list.
