Tottenham Hotspur are joining Aston Villa and West Ham United in the race for Lille defender Tiago Santos.
Tottenham may well be assessing potential right back signings ahead of the summer window.
Emerson Royal currently serves as cover and competition for Pedro Porro but may not be suited to Ange Postecoglou’s style of play.
Football London noted that Postecoglou had his head in his hands after seeing Emerson fire a pass out of play against Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend.
Emerson just doesn’t offer enough on the ball and Postecoglou may dip into the market for another right back this summer.
Tottenham want Tiago Santos
Transfer insider Dean Jones has now told Sports Lens that Tottenham are interested in snapping up Lille talent Tiago Santos.
It’s stated that West Ham United and Aston Villa are also interested in Santos ahead of the summer.
Tottenham may go for a more versatile option instead but Santos is a name on the radar.
Santos has bagged one goal and one assist in 18 Ligue 1 appearances this season and has put himself on Premier League wish lists.
A young talent with major potential, Santos certainly fits the mould of a Tottenham signing under Postecoglou and is a name to watch in the coming months.

Who is Tiago Santos?
Santos started his career in the Sporting youth ranks over in his native Portugal.
The 21-year-old spent time with Oeiras and Sacavenense before heading back to Sporting in 2019, only to move on to Estoril in 2021.
Santos only played 34 times for Estoril before being picked up by Lille for around £5.5million last summer.
Now impressing in Ligue 1, Santos has been hailed as ‘very offensive’ by Lille boss Paulo Fonseca.
Fonseca added that Santos ‘wants to attack all the time’, which certainly sounds like the kind of player Postecoglou would like.
