Toby Alderweireld has stated that Tottenham Hotspur will decide his future, despite having his own plans. The Belgian was speaking to Dezondag when he stated that Tottenham will have the final say on where he plays next before suggesting he has his ‘own idea’ of where he wants to play next season.
The likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have all been linked with a move for the defender this summer.
He has failed to agree on a new deal with the North London club and also had an injury-disrupted campaign in 2017-18.
Spurs are believed to be open to selling him this summer at the right price.
De Ligt-ful replacement
Tottenham have been strongly linked with Dutch international teenager Matthijs De Ligt as the potential replacement for Alderweireld.
Now, according to reports in Italy, a bid is on the table for the Ajax star. Tutto Mercato Web report that Spurs have made a €55 million (£48.1 million) bid to bring in the 18-year-old from Amsterdam.
The report suggests Tottenham’s bid blows several rivals out of the water, including Italian champions Juventus.
Considering De Ligt is like a younger version of Alderweireld, there is no doubt this would be a brilliant recruit for Tottenham.
Tottenham Hotspur are hopeful of signing Jamaican talent Leon Bailey this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
The report claims that Spurs have identified the Bayer Leverkusen winger as a potentially perfect recruit.
It is claimed he would cost a massive amount. Spurs would need to pay £60 million for the player which would smash their current transfer record.
