Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Dele Alli will remain absent for this weekend’s North London derby against Arsenal.
The England international has a hamstring injury and will miss the game against Spurs’ fiercest rivals on Sunday.
Alli has missed Tottenham’s last two games against Everton and Bournemouth with the problem so it is not much of a surprise but it has caused an interesting reaction from Tottenham fans.
Plenty are actually not too displeased at the news, as Alli has struggled for his best form recently.

However, others are disappointed that Alli will not be present considering the manner of the game.
Alli certainly understands what is expected from a Tottenham player in these derby fixtures and that level of commitment is something some Tottenham fans feel will be missing from such a big game.
With Eric Dier also missing through suspension, that feeling is amplified.
Tottenham fans are also wondering if this might be the beginning of the end for Alli. It appears some fans are unsure of the seriousness of the problem and instead believe that Jose Mourinho might be ready to move on from the England star, whose initial turnaround under Mourinho now seems a distant memory.
Here is how some Tottenham fans reacted to the news that Alli will not feature against Arsenal…
