Tottenham Hotspur fans react to Eric Dier performance v Bournemouth

Tottenham Hotspur’s 1-0 loss to Bournemouth can easily be pinned on two of their players. Heung-min Son lost his head in an altercation with Jefferson Lerma. Juan Foyth then committed an ugly, clumsy, challenge. The result was a red card apiece and Spurs had to do battle with just nine men.

They battled well, but Spurs ended up losing 1-0 to a 90th minute Nathan Ake header.

But there were plenty of poor performances on show from Tottenham players and one, in particular, got it in the neck on Twitter.

Eric Dier struggled to get into the game before being subbed off at half-time for Victor Wanyama.

The England international has struggled with fitness this season. Since the turn of the year, he has suffered from appendicitis and hip trouble.

He certainly looked to be lacking match sharpness at Dean Court, with the Bournemouth midfield running rings around him.

Many a neutral even felt he was lucky to avoid a red card, although not as blatantly as the pair who did get dismissed.

Dier clearly struggled. He looked a yard off the pace, struggled to put passes together and simply did not look up to the task.
