Tottenham Hotspur fans react to Andre Onana’s performance v Chelsea

Chelsea played out a thrilling 4-4 draw with Ajax yesterday evening, fighting back from 4-1 down after the Dutch side had been reduced to nine-men. 

It was a highly entertaining game and one which also had Tottenham fans tuned in to watch a player touted to be their future goalkeeper. 

Andre Onana has seemingly become the potential long-term replacement for current club captain Hugo Lloris. 

Voetbal International first reported this information last year and The Sun are now reporting a January move could be made for the Cameroonian international. A fee in the region of £35 million has been mentioned and Tottenham fans were, therefore, ready to evaluate his display against their Premier League rivals. 

Despite conceding four goals it was a positive display from the 23-year-old. He made some excellent late stops to keep Ajax from losing and two of the goals he conceded were well placed Jorginho penalties. 

On top of that, his distribution and aerial presence highlighted just how impressive an option he might be for Tottenham. 

Indeed, the general consensus from Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter were that Onana has what it takes to be a top player for the club if they do make a move in the future…
