Tottenham Hotspur are being linked with a move for Lyon striker Memphis Depay. The Mirror reports that the Dutch international has become a key transfer target for Spurs and that a £50 million bid could be made for the player.
Depay, who previously struggled in England during a stint at Manchester United, is now in fine form for both Lyon and the Netherlands, scoring 14 goals in 17 games for club and country this season.
Tottenham fans would, of course, love it if the club could bring in a player of such quality and at just 25-years-old there is still plenty of scope for him to get even better.

However, reaction to the report has been mixed.
Whilst nobody is doubting the quality of Depay as a player and the potential impact he could have at Tottenham, others are not sure he is exactly what Spurs currently need.
Tottenham have gaping holes in their defensive unit that need to be addressed, especially at right-back.
Meanwhile, others were also quick to suggest that £50 million would unlikely be enough to convince Lyon into the sale of such an in-form talent, especially at this stage of his career.
So whilst Tottenham fans would love to see Depay banging in the goals in North London, not many truly believe it is currently a likely transfer move for the club…
