Tottenham Hotspur fans not pleased with Dele Alli performance in Olympiakos draw

Tottenham Hostpur fans were left disappointed by the performance of their midfield dynamo.

Tottenham Hotspur let a 2-0 lead slip in Greece this evening, with Olympiakos fighting back for a 2-2 draw. Spurs would have felt in charge of the game after an early Harry Kane penalty and a fantastic striker from Lucas Moura. However, the Greek side proved a resilient outfit, with Daniel Podence and a Mathieu Valbuena penalty levelling affairs.

Overall, it will be considered a disappointing night for Tottenham and there were plenty of players not at the level needed for a European clash.

Jan Vertonghen gave away a silly penalty, Tanguy Ndombele still looks to be settling whilst Christian Eriksen dialled in yet another performance for the team he wanted to leave in the summer.

But Dele Alli has also come in for plenty of stick on social media for his performance.

It was the England international’s first start of the season after hamstring problems at the start of the campaign but he struggled to have an impact playing from a wide left position.

He rarely got involved in the game and when he did, he failed to deliver real quality.

The cherry on the top of his disappointing display was his chance to lay a goal on a playe for Harry Kane which would have secured victory for Spurs. Just like Erik Lamela also did later, he went for goal himself and Tottenham fans were not impressed online.

Whilst many can forgive him, considering he is on the comeback trail from injury, others are growing tired of his lack of form over the past 18 months.
