Tottenham Hotspur fans were left delighted with England’s advance to the quarter-finals yesterday. Of course, a big Tottenham contingent helped. Harry Kane, Eric Dier, Dele Alli, Kieran Trippier and Danny Rose all played for England yesterday as they won on penalties.

He produced two absolutely outstanding headed clearances to deny England two clear goal-scoring chances. It was an incredible display from the Tottenham youngster who had a great season last term.
Questions have been asked of the player. Every now and again he lapses and lets a player in behind. But in time he is going to be a world-class operator and last night he looked every bit the defender Spurs will hope he proves to be.
With Tottenham set to lose Toby Alderweireld, Sanchez will need to step up this season. If he can put in performances like this week-in and week-out for Tottenham then any doubters will soon be silenced.
