Tottenham Hotspur should consider selling Hugo Lloris at £60m

This week has seen Tottenham Hotspur keeper Hugo Lloris linked with a move to Real Madrid. The Sun reported that Los Merengues are ready to make a £60 million move for the Frenchman, who is currently on holiday after lifting the World Cup as Les Bleus’ captain.

Since the report emerged there has been a slew of opinion strongly against the idea of selling Lloris. Understandably so; He had a good World Cup with his country, is considered one of the best keepers in the world and is Tottenham’s captain.

However, many of those people must have reasonably short memories. Because, throughout much of last season, Lloris found himself criticised by a section of Tottenham fans.

In April there were even some calling for him to be dropped after a difficult display against Manchester City.

His season started poorly, allowing a shot from Marcos Alonso to squirm under his body v Chelsea.

Then there was his awful mistake for France against Sweden in a World Cup warm-up v Sweden and, who can forget his mistake in the final v Croatia.

Lloris has been questioned recently and with £60 million on the table Tottenham would be mad not to consider selling the 31-year-old.

If they could target a replacement they feel is good enough to take his place, Tottenham should undoubtedly consider letting the Frenchman depart this summer.
