Tottenham Hotspur face a seemingly daunting game against Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday, but they actually face the Spaniards at the best possible time.
The Catalan giants find themselves in a poor run of form, having drawn two games and lost one towards the back end of September.
Ernesto Valverde’s side have dropped points against Athletic Bilbao (1-1), Leganes (2-1) and Girona (2-2), and appear to be stalling after a good start, which included an 8-2 win over Huesca.

Tottenham may therefore feel they’re in with a chance at Wembley.
The result against Internazionale was hugely disappointing.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side already have work to do, and must capitalise on faltering Barca.
They are there for the taking, with their clinical edge having deserted them in recent weeks.
Tottenham must call on last season’s European standards
The Spurs players need to think back to last season’s group stages.
They were fantastic in games against big hitters Real Madrid.

They have been there before against a slow-starting Spanish team at Wembley in the Champions League, and they can do it again.
Barcelona have found success in the Champions League hard to come by in recent years, and Spurs must try and tap into that.
No Vertonghen would be a blow
Spurs may not be able to call on Jan Vertonghen for the game, as reported by the Daily Mail.
The Belgian international is currently a doubt with a hamstring injury.

That will provide a serious dent to Tottenham’s hopes of getting a positive result.
If he is to miss out then Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez must bring their A-games for the visit of Lionel Messi and co.
