Tottenham hoping Bale signs new contract

Tottenham boss, Andres Villas Boas, is urging his star player to sign a new deal at White Hart Lane to end speculation of him moving away from North London.

AVB hopes Gareth Bale will sign a new deal and devote his future to the club. The welshman won PFA Player and Young Player of the Year this season and this has only increased speculation of a move away from White Hart Lane. His manager is now confident that he will stay at Spurs.

Tottenham are confident Bale will commit his future to the club next month – by signing a stunning new deal that will pay him £170,000-a-week.

The 23-year-old is already under contract at the White Hart Lane club until 2016. He is now expected to add another year to that deal whilst having his wages almost doubled by chairman Daniel Levy.

The Portuguese boss said: “It would be good for him [if he signs a new contract],” said Villas-Boas. “It will put the speculation to bed. It would be a reward for what he has achieved this season.

Bale has been very influential for Tottenham this season, keeping their hopes for Champions League alive with stunning solo performances finished off with superb strikes to help Tottenham gather points in the league this year. He has popped up at the most important of times to help Spurs out, he is by far their best player. Excellent reasons why worldwide clubs want him.
