Tottenham are keen to add Marseille defender Hiroki Saki to their ranks this summer, according to Sky Sports.
The 29-year-old has been with the French outfit since 2016 but is now attracting interest from Spurs.
Sakai played 19 games at right-back and nine at left-back last season, showcasing the versatility he would bring to the Spurs ranks.

It seems likely that Spurs would sign Sakai to play right-back. A report back in April from the Evening Standard suggested that the club would listen to offers for both Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier.
The Japan international perhaps isn’t the big name signing that the club’s supporters crave this summer.
Although his arrival would offer an upgrade on the players currently playing in his position at the club, there is a sense that a few stellar names will arrive this summer.
Sakai would perhaps be seen as more of a squad player. The majority of supporters want players to be signed and play an immediate part in the starting eleven at the club.

Following news of the club’s interest in Sakai, several supporters have taken to social media.
It is fair to suggest that the majority of supporters aren’t enthralled with the prospect of the Japanese player rocking up at the club.
