Tottenham have told title-winning club that they can sign their ‘outstanding’ midfielder for just £8.5m

Tottenham are expected to sell a few of their players in this summer’s transfer window.

Ange Postecoglou‘s men showed in the 2023/24 season that they have what it takes to compete with the best sides in the Premier League.

However, Spurs finished the season with just two wins in their last seven games, and that cost them a place inside the top four.

Postecoglou would’ve realised that there is still a lot of work to be done. Tottenham are on the market for new players, but they need to sell a few of their own as well.

An update has emerged on one of them.

What Tottenham have told Galatasaray about Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is expected to leave Tottenham in this summer’s transfer window.

The Dane joined the club from Southampton back in 2020, when Jose Mourinho was still at the helm. He was a regular under the Special One and Antonio Conte too.

However, Hojbjerg has lost his place as a regular starter since Postecoglou took charge of the club. He’s nowhere near the top of the Tottenham boss’ pecking order.

In July, the midfielder will enter the final year of his contract, and the expectation is that he will be leaving the club before the summer window shuts.

Sabah share the latest on Hojbejrg’s situation.

The report claims that Galatasaray have contacted Tottenham to ask what it would take to sign the Denmark international in this window.

The Turkish champions have a great relationship with Spurs, having struck deals for Davinson Sanchez and Tanguy Ndombele in 2023.

Tottenham have reportedly told Galatasaray that they are open to selling Hojbjerg for just €10 million (£8.5m) this summer.

The report adds that Gala are ready to offer a four-year contract to Hojbjerg, with an annual salary of €5 million (£4.2m).

Two former Tottenham managers also want Hojbjerg

Hojbjerg is expected to be a wanted man this summer.

The ‘outstanding‘ Dane is still only 28 and is more than capable of playing at the highest level. His quality in midfield, experience and low price tag make him a very attractive option.

Hojbjerg’s agent has confirmed that he is ‘working on many requests’ that have already come in, but nothing will happen until after his participation at Euro 2024.

Galatasaray would be an interesting move, but the Turkish champions’ fierce local rivals, Fenerbahce, who are now managed by Mourinho, also want to sign Hojbjerg.

In what would potentially be a more attractive proposition, Conte wants to sign him at Napoli too.

It will be interesting to see where Hojbjerg will end up this summer if he does leave Tottenham. At £8.5 million, he could prove to be a real bargain for one of the interested clubs.
