Tottenham have reportedly scouted 'complete' £43m World Cup CB/RB likened to Kolo Toure

With the World Cup now in its latter stages, Tottenham Hotspur have been able to stock of their season and plan for the remainder of the campaign.

Truth be told, Spurs will probably feel they could’ve done better. This is even though they’re in the Premier League top four and in the Champions League last 16.

At the start of the season, Tottenham really looked like they could’ve been challenging for the title. That’s how good their recruitment seemed.

But despite heavy investment in the squad, Spurs still don’t look anywhere near the finished product.

The defence still looks shaky and there’s a good chance Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici will look for reinforcements in January.

According to GiveMeSport journalist Dean Jones, Axel Disasi is one of the defenders Spurs are been eyeing ahead of the transfer window.

He wrote: “Axel Disasi is another player to look out for.

“He plays as a defender for Monaco and has been scouted by the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham, sources say.”

‘Laser passes’

Disasi has been impressing for AS Monaco since joining from Reims in 2020. He is also in France’s World Cup squad and has made two appearances in Qatar.

A centre-back by trade, the 24-year-old can also play at right-back. This is where he featured in Les Bleus’ group-stage defeat to Tunisia.

Prior reports from France suggested that the Ligue 1 side has placed a €50m (£43m) price tag on Disasi

Scouting outlet Ligue 1 Analysis wrote an in-depth report on the 6ft 3in ace in 2020.

They deemed him a ‘complete defender’ who is ‘athletic and lively’ with a ‘very good ability to read the game’ and capable of ‘giving laser passes to break the lines’.

On Twitter, fans have compared Disasi’s style of play to the likes of Kurt Zouma, Kolo Toure and Sylvain Distin.

All in all, Disasi seems to tick a lot of boxes for Conte’s Tottenham.

He is extremely talented, versatile, proven at the highest level, tall, and at 24, still has years to go before hitting his prime.

However, £43million isn’t exactly cheap, and Spurs could well have a lot of competition for his services.
