A striker will be top of the agenda for Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham this summer as Spurs prepare for a Champions League campaign next season – with doubts surrounding the future of Richarlison.

Spurs will cash in on the Brazil star if the price is right. He is hardly even starting for Spurs at the moment, with Son Heung-min preferred up top by Postecoglou – in front of James Maddison in his 4-2-31 system.

Tottenham lack that kind of striker that will hold the ball-up, and then turn and get himself into the box, Richarlison is not that kind of striker – with most of his best form this season coming from the left flank.

Spurs are looking at potential additions in the final third and that has seen them turn to Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez. Joining in the summer of 2022, he scored 23 goals last term as they won the Eredivisie.

This season, he has already eclipsed that total – scoring 24 goals. Still only 22, he is earning rave reviews for his performances in The Netherlands. Spurs are intensifying talks for Gimenez, who is rated at £60m.

Branded a “superstar”, Tottenham are unlikely to be the only club interested in landing the Mexico star this summer. But, Spurs might have just been given a golden chance to land Gimenez, thanks to Bryan Gil.

Including Gil in a deal will convince Feyenoord to sell Gimenez

The Spanish winger is likely to leave Tottenham in the summer after struggling to get into the squad in recent weeks. He has already left Spurs twice on loan since he joined the London club a few years back.

Dutch outlet 1908.nl say Arne Slot’s Feyenoord want to sign the Spanish winger – who might be available for a bargain £5.2m fee. So, Spurs want Feyenoord striker Gimenez, and the Dutch club want to sign Gil.

Including Gil is hardly going to save Spurs a heap load of cash in a move for Gimenez. But, it will tempt Feyenoord to do a deal if Spurs put Gil in the deal and give Feyernoord priority over Gil’s next move.
