Tottenham Hotspur have posted a picture of Brennan Johnson in training today and in our view, he should get the nod against Chelsea on Monday evening.

Brennan Johnson has started just once in the Premier League after making the £45 million switch to Spurs from Nottingham Forest over the summer.

The 22-year-old impressed on his full debut in the North London Derby, but was ruled out of the following two games with a hamstring injury.

Richarlison has taken his place in the side in the wins over Luton Town and Crystal Palace.

But while the Brazilian has enjoyed some bright moments, Johnson impressed after replacing him at Selhurst Park on Friday.

The Welshman linked up brilliantly with James Maddison down the left-hand side before setting up Son Heung-Min for Tottenham’s second of the evening.

And we think Ange Postecoglou should hand Johnson his second start since joining Spurs when they host Chelsea on Monday.

Johnson will surely be handed second Tottenham start against Chelsea

Johnson grabbed his first goal involvement in a Spurs shirt in the 2-1 win at Palace on Friday.

It turned out to be the winner for Tottenham after Jordan Ayew netted a late consolation goal.

The Wales international was spotted in training at Hotspur Way today ahead of Monday’s clash against Chelsea.

Postecoglou has had a pretty settled starting line-up so far this season but he’s yet to decide on his favoured option for the left wing spot.

Richarlison has put in a couple of encouraging displays there since Johnson’s injury. But it’s evident he is the weakest link in the frontline at the moment.

Johnson may be better suited to the clash against Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea too.

As Spurs fans will be fully aware, Pochettino favours a high line and Johnson’s explosive pace could help Postecoglou’s men expose this.
