Journalist Dean Jones has told Give Me Sport that Tottenham Hotspur have actually been monitoring Adrien Rabiot for some time amid recent reports that Spurs are now in the race for the midfielder.
Rabiot is wanted by a host of Premier League clubs. His contract with Juventus expires at the end of the season.

Calciomercato reports that his move to Manchester United in the past summer broke down over his £166,000-a-week wage demands. But the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly now willing to meet those demands.

However, the report added that Tottenham have joined the race with Fabio Paratici a big fan of the 27-year-old.

But it appears that Spurs have been in the background for a while. Jones has claimed that they have been admirers of the Frenchman for a lot longer. And they may have an eye on his performances while in Qatar.
“There are players, like Rabiot, where they’ve had an eye on their situation for some time, and they might just convince them that they are worth pursuing again,“ he told Give Me Sport.
Going after Rabiot will likely divide a number of Tottenham Hotspur fans. He has been playing at the highest level for the best part of a decade. But it is probably fair to say that he has not realised his full potential.
He has been excellent this season for Juventus. And he shone in France’s World Cup opener against Australia as Didier Deschamps’ men immediately put one foot in the knockout stages.
But this campaign has been something of an anomaly in his career. So plenty of Spurs supporters will be wary of their side making a move – particularly when you consider the options they already have.
Tottenham have real depth in the middle of the park. So signing Rabiot may not make a lot of sense – even if there is a chance to sign him on a free transfer.
