Tottenham have 5 nominated for FIFPRO World XI, Dele Alli gets surprising nod
Tottenham have been handed more recognition of their fine work in 2020, with five players nominated for the FIFPRO World XI.
Confirmed by the official website, FIFPRO sees the 55 best players in world – as nominated by fellow professionals – narrowed down into a World XI at the end of the year.

Bayern Munich lead the way with 11 players but it is Spurs, with five, who are also well represented. Among the Spurs players nominated are obvious selections like Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son.
However, there is a surprise nomination for Dele Alli, while Hugo Lloris and Toby Alderweireld complete the quintet of Spurs stars.
The addition of Alli is an interesting one. But, he did play a lot in the early part of the year and was, at the time, a regular under Jose Mourinho before his fortunes changed this season.

The nomination is a nod to the talent Alli does have, regardless of his current circumstance. Kane, meanwhile, will be hoping to make the final XI given his superb 2020.
Mourinho working wonders – TBR View
Five players is a healthy number out of 55 for Spurs. It’s nice to see and great for Jose Mourinho to see his methods bearing fruit.
Kane and Son were obvious choices but Lloris, Alderweireld, and Dele are more surprising. It will be interesting to see where those three stack up in terms of the final votes.
For Spurs in general, though, this is just another example of how the club is going in the right direction.
