Tottenham were strongly linked with a move for Antonio Nusa last week.
The north London club had reportedly opened talks to sign the young attacker last week, but over the past few days, there have been very few updates on this front.
Indeed we’ve not heard anything about a fee being agreed, a bid going in or personal terms being agreed. However, that isn’t to say there isn’t work going on behind the scenes.
According to Dean Jones, speaking on the Ranks FC Ultras Podcast, Tottenham are still very much focusing on this Nusa deal, and, apparently, Spurs held talks about this potential move on Wednesday.

Nusa talks held on Wednesday
Jones shared what he knows about the £26m man.
“They have actually had updated talks on Nusa, I believe that was yesterday, Wednesday, when the reconvened on this. That’s the third round of talks this month. A really interesting story and one looks like it’s getting closer to being ironed out. As I said before, it’s not a disaster if this doesn’t happen now,” Jones said.
One to watch
This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on even if this deal doesn’t end up being finalised before next week’s deadline.
As has been reported, Tottenham’s plan with this deal was to loan Nusa back in any case, so it’s not the end of the world if negotiations drag on into February and a pre-summer agreement is reached instead of a January signing with a loan back.
The important thing is that Tottenham are still keen on signing Nusa, and, as Jones says, things do appear to be getting closer to being ironed out.
Nusa may not be pulling on a white shirt until next season, but there’s every chance he could be Tottenham’s next signing.
