Although Tottenham Hotspur and Ange Postecoglou are now looking ahead to January, they perhaps may have one transfer regret from the summer.
Postecoglou’s arrival in North London was among frantic circumstances.

As well as the need to overhaul their squad, one that was very much in the image of Antonio Conte, there was also the uncertainty over Harry Kane’s future.
And as a result, opportunities were perhaps missed, and Spurs’ squad was left slightly short for the season.
Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher was one name often linked with the club, someone Postecoglou was said to admire.
And after a few reported failed attempts, it seems that the club decided to reluctantly give up on any deal.
That being said, The Telegraph have now shared that Chelsea would have been willing to accept a bid in the summer.
Despite being a homegrown fan-favourite, Chelsea still seem willing to sell Gallagher in January too.
And this report states that £50m would have been enough in the summer, with interest also existing from West Ham and Newcastle United.
Perhaps Tottenham weren’t willing to meet this threshold, but it could certainly be an interesting situation for Postecoglou’s side ahead of the January transfer window.
Tottenham could have signed Conor Gallagher for Ange Postecoglou in summer transfer window
Although there’s currently no strong indication that Tottenham remain interested in Gallagher, perhaps a deal could therefore still be achievable.
Spurs must now be more confident of achieving European football this year given how well they are now playing.

Therefore, with a strong financial position on the horizon, in terms of FFP, perhaps Spurs could revisit a deal.
Tottenham will be busy strengthening Postecoglou’s squad in the January transfer window – that’s not a secret.
And with a central defender, a midfielder and a forward thought to be on the shopping list, Gallagher could be a name mentioned again.
Perhaps Tottenham have already found a centre-back that meets their specification, with one £40m target now very keen to join.
But otherwise it remains to be seen who the club will identify in this crucial window – one that will shape the year to come.
