Tottenham Hotspur are still searching for their first permanent signing of the summer transfer window.

Timo Werner is the only player who has arrived at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer but his arrival is only on a loan basis.

Ange Postecoglou will be keen to bring in some new recruits in time for Tottenham‘s pre-season tour of Asia which is coming up next month.

The story of Tottenham’s summer window to date has been player departures with Daniel Levy showing his ruthless side in offloading a number of players for free.

But the attention is going to have to turn to signings with Postecoglou looking to continue the development shown from his first campaign in north London.

And there is one player who Spurs are now said to be growing in confidence over potentially landing this summer.

Tottenham growing in confidence summer target could be sold

Last season, Postecoglou’s side finished narrowly behind Aston Villa in the race for the final spot in the Champions League places.

Europa League football is going to require Tottenham to have a squad filled with greater quality in order for Postecoglou to rotate to maintain the side’s competitiveness across all competitions.

Spurs will be playing considerably more games next term with the Europa League also boasting a new format which includes more group stage games.

Unai Emery‘s side may have pipped Tottenham to fourth spot, but Spurs are now gunning for one of their exciting talents.

According to Alasdair Gold, Spurs are now growing in confidence that they will be able to prise Jacob Ramsey away from Villa.

Johan Lange is the man believed to be pushing this move for the Villa youngster having previously worked with him during his time in the Midlands.

However, he is not going to come cheap with Villa believed to hold a valuation up to £50m for their 23-year-old talent who Emery has recently hailed as “amazing“.

Spurs are said to have a list of options this summer to bolster Postecoglou’s midfield over the coming months.

Jacob Ramsey injury record

Last season, the 23-year-old only managed to play 16 times in the Premier League last season with eight of those coming from the starting XI.

Injuries seriously hindered the midfielder’s campaign with numerous different issues holding him back over the term.

This is something which also had a big effect on Postecoglou’s midfield last season with Rodrigo Bentancur and James Maddison both suffering with respective issues.

The 2023/24 campaign was certainly a concern for Ramsey and it could prove to be a real risk for Tottenham to take considering the money believed to be involved in a potential deal.
